Summary

In July 1948, a witness in Gahanna, Ohio, reported an object in the sky visible for about three seconds. The report notes that despite the stated time of observation, the moon had not yet risen, making the explanation of it being the moon questionable. The investigator in charge of the case again suggested the possibility of the object being mistaken for common natural or artificial phenomena, such as reflected lights or balloons. However, the report failed to provide a conclusive explanation, and the case remained unsolved.

This incident is part of the files from Project Grudge, where UFO sightings were collected and evaluated. Although multiple possibilities were analyzed, from astronomical to non-astronomical explanations, no definitive conclusion was reached.
