🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1943, a student in Groveport, Ohio, reported an unusual aerial phenomenon that resembled an anti-aircraft shell exploding. According to the testimony, he saw a black cloud between two white ones, an odd sight in a clear sky. The cloud stretched into a wide streak, twisted rapidly, and disappeared without sound. The witness compared it to a rubber band being stretched and then snapping. The agent in charge sketched the event, and the report concluded there was no clear explanation, though possible causes like reflections or projectiles were considered without success.
The case was investigated by Project Grudge, which categorized it as a phenomenon with no evident explanation. Although conventional explanations like balloons or rockets were ruled out, the witness's detailed description and the spontaneous nature of the event did not match any known theory. The final report did not reach a definitive conclusion but highlighted the strange and sudden character of the incident, which the witness could not relate to any prior experience.
