🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1948, two fighter pilots in the Philippines observed an unusual unidentified aerial object. The object suddenly emerged from a cloud, moving in a corkscrew-like pattern. It was estimated to have a wingspan of 100 to 150 feet and was traveling at an extremely high speed. Its appearance resembled a flak burst, with a white exhaust trail extending from one to ten miles. Both witnesses agreed it was not a cloud, as the sky was clear. The trail dissipated within three minutes, behaving differently from typical vapor trails.
The object was described as elongated and tapered, with a trail that did not resemble conventional aircraft contrails. Despite multiple analyses, no conventional explanation was found, leading to the incident being classified as "unresolved." This report, part of the USAF's Project Grudge, reflects the military's interest in investigating unexplained aerial phenomena during the Cold War.
