In January 1949, a pilot and his wife in Mississippi observed an unidentified object while landing at Dixie Airport. The object, described as cigar-shaped with short stubby wings, appeared at around 200 mph and accelerated to between 400 and 500 mph. The pilot tried to show it to his co-pilot, who didn't see it.
