🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In January 1949, a pilot and his wife in Mississippi observed an unidentified object while landing at Dixie Airport. The object, described as cigar-shaped with short stubby wings, appeared at around 200 mph and accelerated to between 400 and 500 mph. The pilot tried to show it to his co-pilot, who didn't see it. The object made a turn toward the southwest and disappeared. Initially thought to be a target, there were no planes or balloons to explain it. The investigation found no clear answers.
The object was described as about 60 feet long, cigar-shaped, and without visible wings. The official report logged it as incident 233 and was reviewed by experts who found no astronomical or conventional explanation. The object left no exhaust trail and its maneuverability suggested speeds and control beyond the ordinary. Despite multiple reviews, the case remains unsolved.
