🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In February 1949, at Godman Air Force Base in Kentucky, several airmen observed a bright object that appeared to change colors. The incident occurred at 01:50 AM when a tower operator and three weather observers noticed a luminous object in the southern horizon. Using binoculars, they saw it rotating and displaying red, green, and yellow hues. The base intelligence officer concluded it might be the star Sirius, but witnesses insisted it didn't behave like a typical star. The object vanished suddenly after 20 minutes, with a series of flashes. Although a theodolite reading was taken, there were no photographs or sketches of the phenomenon.
