🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In March 1949, several employees at Watson Laboratories in Red Bank, New Jersey, reported seeing an unidentified flying object shaped like a plate. The incident occurred around 14:20 and was reported by a radio mechanic who described the object as bright, white, and moving rapidly. Other witnesses confirmed the sighting, noting that the object did not resemble any known aircraft and disappeared within minutes. Military authorities conducted an investigation but found no conventional explanation for the phenomenon.
The testimonies aligned on several points: the object was circular, moved at a notable speed, and showed no signs of traditional propulsion. Although there were no active radars in the area, the observers were deemed reliable by their employer and demonstrated sound intelligence. The official report did not mention alternative explanations such as balloons or optical illusions, adding to the mystery of this classic UFO case.
