🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In April 1949, two observers in Springer, New Mexico, reported seeing multiple bright objects in the sky. The incident began when a noise resembling ducks landing drew their attention. Looking up, they saw silver objects moving in precise formations at astonishing speeds. The objects appeared in groups of 9 to 11 units, each visible for only a few seconds before disappearing. Despite the brief observation, both witnesses agreed the objects were not birds or conventional aircraft, and they emitted a sharp, persistent sound. The testimony includes a drawing showing the trajectories of the groups, suggesting coordination beyond natural or conventional objects.
The official report, part of Project 10073, details the observations and the day's conditions. The witnesses, a gas station employee and a friend, insisted the phenomenon was real and unexplainable by conventional knowledge. The noise preceding the objects was key to realizing the event's unusual nature. Although no physical evidence or photos were found, the detailed testimony and the formation drawing suggest a shared and genuine experience. The case remains an unresolved mystery in UFO history.
