🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In April 1949, an official at Cleveland Municipal Airport reported an unidentified aerial object. The object, described as a bright red light, was observed southeast of the airport and slowly moving eastward. Despite multiple witnesses seeing it for about 15 to 20 minutes, no sounds, trails, or odors were reported. The official initially considered it might be a balloon with a lamp, but ruled that out after noting it didn’t move with the wind. Other explanations like landing lights or reflections were also considered but didn’t fit the observations. The report includes details of the object’s path, multiple witness accounts, and weather data from the time.
The official investigation failed to identify the object, and while conventional explanations were dismissed, no definitive conclusion was reached. The case was closed without resolution, adding another chapter to the history of UFO sightings in the United States.
