🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In April 1949, a witness in Los Angeles observed an object shaped like a disc, with an aluminum-like color, moving at high speed toward the northwest. The object was thick in the center and tapered at the edges, with vertical projections on top. It was estimated to be faster than a jet, covering a 160-degree arc in about 35 seconds. It left a thin dark trail that quickly dissipated and reflected sunlight. The witness, along with other city employees, confirmed there was no known aerial activity in the area at that time, making the sighting particularly intriguing.
The official investigation found no conventional explanation for the phenomenon. Several witnesses, including park and recreation workers, gave consistent accounts of the object's appearance, trajectory, and speed. Although no physical evidence or photographs were found, the detailed and coherent testimonies suggest a serious observation. The report concludes that there was no military or civilian activity in the area that could explain the sighting, leaving open the possibility of an unidentified phenomenon.
