In May 1949, a witness in Livermore, California, observed two brilliant objects performing complex maneuvers in the sky. These objects, seen for five minutes, were traveling at high altitude and at speeds exceeding conventional aircraft. They left a trail of gray vapor, which caught the observer's attention. The detailed description of their movements and the confirmation that it was not an illusion made this case one of the most intriguing of the time.

The report, officially classified as "unidentified," was sent to Colonel W. H. Clemens, who included it in the study on unidentified flying objects.
