🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A man and his wife in St. Louis, Missouri, spotted an unusual object in May 1949. The object, described as triangular and tailless, appeared to move rapidly at high altitude. The man, a retired artist, estimated it was the size of a small plane and reflected a glint on its right side. While the wife saw it as dark reddish brown, she thought it had a buff color with a reddish glow. The object moved straight but oscillated side to side, vanishing into the horizon without changing altitude. The official investigation found no conventional explanations, though it suggested it could have been an unrecognized commercial aircraft.
