🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A report from May 11, 1949 describes a silver-tipped object observed in the sky over Watertown, New York. According to Mrs. Johnson and others, the object trailed smoke and moved slowly from east to north, gradually disappearing. The description mentions it resembled a silver ball and its disappearance was gradual, as if dissolving. Despite multiple investigations, no conventional explanation was found, and weather balloons launched from Griffiss AFB were considered. However, records of their flight paths were destroyed, complicating confirmation of this theory.
The case was reviewed by Air Force agents who interviewed witnesses and checked weather and flight data. There were no records of unusual aerial activity or experimental flights in the area. Despite the investigations, the phenomenon had no clear explanation and was archived under Project "Grudge," which aimed to debunk UFO reports through rigorous inquiry.
