🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In May 1949, a farmer in Parma, Michigan, discovered a metallic object in his cornfield. The object, about 9 inches in diameter with a piece of purple plastic attached, was initially thought to be a UFO. Further investigation revealed it was a local radio transcription disc, commonly used and then discarded. Although there was no evidence of an unidentified aerial phenomenon, the case illustrates how everyday objects can generate rumors and confusion.
