🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In June 1949, an observer at Kirkland Air Base in New Mexico spotted an unusual object. The object appeared slightly larger than the brightest visible star and had a slightly more orange hue. At times, it flared up and left a faint fan-shaped trail. Its brightness varied with speed: as it slowed, the light faded, and as it accelerated, it became brighter. Although no physical evidence or photographs were found, the observer provided a detailed account of the object's behavior, suggesting a careful and coherent observation.
The object was seen for approximately two minutes, and its path went from northwest to southeast. Although the exact distance could not be estimated, the observer noted it disappeared behind a building. The weather conditions were clear and dark, aiding the observation. The report concludes that no conclusive data was presented to rule out the object being an aircraft, but its behavior did not match that of a conventional plane.
