🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In June 1949, multiple witnesses in West Walden, New York, reported UFO sightings. One account describes a bright yellowish-white object, elongated in shape, observed for 25 to 30 minutes. Another sighting details an object slowly drifting northward, with a brightness comparable to several 140-watt bulbs. Observers included a truck driver and an astronomy enthusiast, who noted details such as flight direction and the absence of sound or odor.
The reports vary in duration, from minutes to three hours, with some mentioning the object suddenly disappearing after a noise resembling a gunshot. Despite clear weather conditions, no effects on clouds were recorded, and the object was not identified as a conventional one. Interrogators rated the observers as individuals of good character and intelligence, adding credibility to the accounts.
