A bright object over Alaska in 1949

Summary

In June 1949, over Haines, Alaska, two experienced observers spotted a bright blue-green object. The object showed no tail or exhaust and appeared to move at an extremely high speed, faster than any known jet aircraft. Although the duration of the observation was not stated, the object gradually disappeared. The observers, including a former Air Force officer, gave consistent descriptions, adding credibility to the sighting.

The report, under project 10073, concluded that the data was insufficient to identify the object. However, similarities were noted with another previous sighting of a similar object. Despite the limitations of the report, the detailed description and the observers' experience make this case one of the most intriguing UFO incidents in Alaska's history.
