Summary

In December 1949, a civilian pilot observed a metallic object moving at high speed. The sighting occurred near Westfield, Indiana, while the witness was flying in a Cessna 120. Initially, he thought it was a commercial airliner, but soon noticed it was larger than a jet and moving much faster. The object was heading west and vanished into the sunlight, leaving no physical evidence. The pilot activated his chronograph, recording one minute and twenty seconds of observation.
