🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In June 1949, a security inspector in Los Alamos, New Mexico, observed a round object that glowed, changing from blue-green to orange-red before vanishing. The object was visible for three seconds and moved from west to east, passing directly through the zenith. According to the report, the object made no sound or odor and disappeared as if it were extinguished. The observation was recorded as part of an investigation into unidentified aerial objects, and it was noted that the witness met employment requirements at the facility, suggesting a reliability check had been performed.
The report accurately describes the object's behavior, though no conventional explanations were found for the phenomenon. The witness, who worked in security, was not wearing polarized glasses and did not observe the object through windows or other transparent materials. Despite the brief sighting, the object was clearly described, adding intrigue to this unusual case from the 1940s.
