🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In June 1949, a witness in Monroe, Michigan, spotted an unidentified flying object for just two seconds. The report notes that the object, disc-shaped with a thick central section, was traveling southwest among several military aircraft. A vapor disturbance was seen swirling from the outer edge as it moved. Although the report suggests it could have been a new type of jet engine, no physical evidence or photographs were obtained to confirm the sighting.
The report was submitted to the Chief of Naval Operations and it was highlighted that another witness, a local journalist, also reported a similar sighting. However, due to the brevity of the event and lack of concrete data, it was concluded that there was insufficient information to identify the object. This case, though brief, reflects the interest of authorities in UFO reports during the 1940s.
