🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In June 1949, a woman in Astoria, Long Island, observed two unidentified aerial objects resembling plates, approximately 1.5 to 2 feet in diameter. These objects, described as gray and surrounded by a yellowish halo, moved eastward at low altitude, between 100 and 150 feet. The observation lasted about three seconds, and the objects disappeared into a haze. According to the report, the woman saw the objects from her kitchen while preparing dinner, and her testimony was considered credible by investigators.
The official investigation found no conventional explanations, such as aircraft or weather balloons, and no physical evidence was found. Although a research balloon was mentioned as a possibility, it was not confirmed. The report concluded that the phenomenon had no clear explanation and was classified as an unresolved case. This document is part of the Project Grudge files, a U.S. Air Force initiative to investigate UFO reports during the Cold War.
