🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1949, a U.S. Air Force officer observed a spherical object while working on the tail of a B-36 in Fort Worth, Texas. The object, described as silver and semi-transparent, appeared to be the size of a fist at arm's length. The observer, an experienced pilot, insisted it was not a balloon due to its speed and horizontal flight path. He saw it for 15 seconds before it disappeared behind a parked aircraft.
The investigation concluded the object was a balloon released by a radar unit at Carswell Air Force Base. Despite this explanation, the observer's testimony stands out for its clarity and detailed description, sparking some controversy. Visibility was good with scattered clouds, which did not hinder the observation. The case remains intriguing due to the timing coincidence and the unusual description of the object.
