🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1949, a woman in Valdosta, Georgia, observed a bright red object hanging in the sky at about a 45-degree angle. She described it as resembling an electric light bulb with a small stem, glowing intensely. The object remained visible for about 10 minutes before slowly disappearing toward the southwest. Although initially considered a UFO, the official investigation concluded it was a conventional aircraft.
The investigation revealed the witness was an excitable and nervous person, casting some doubt on the accuracy of her account. There were no other witnesses or physical evidence of the phenomenon. Despite this, the detailed description of the object and its unusual behavior generated some controversy. The official report did not completely rule out the possibility of an unexplained phenomenon, but attributed the sighting to a conventional aircraft.
