In July 1949, a woman in Honolulu observed two balloon-like objects moving across the sky. The first traveled westward, while the second appeared from the south, circled the first, and then both disappeared. The observation occurred on a clear day, allowing for a clear view of the phenomenon. The woman had never seen anything similar before and could not explain the objects' behavior.
The official investigation concluded that the objects were weather balloons launched by the Pacific Weather Center. These balloons, equipped with radiosondes, ascend to high altitudes and move with air currents. However, the witness insisted she saw two distinct objects separated by more than eight feet, which did not match the description of a single balloon. Despite weather conditions and the witness's location, it was considered unlikely she could have seen the balloon launched at Pearl Harbor due to the obstruction from her house.
