🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1949, a classified Project 10073 report documents a UFO sighting in Columbus, Ohio. A gas station worker described seeing an oval-shaped object, greyish-blue in color and large, moving silently without any exhaust trail. According to his testimony, the object dropped two bright lights that extinguished and released a glowing sphere. Another witness, a machinist, reported seeing two round lights moving slowly southward. Both observers agreed they heard no sound and saw no propulsion evidence, raising questions about the nature of the phenomenon.
The official report concluded it was an unidentified aircraft, but the testimonies suggest something more unusual. The agent in charge noted that one witness seemed overly dramatic, casting doubt on his credibility. However, the other provided a more coherent and detailed account. Despite contradictions, the case remains intriguing due to the description of lights and movements that don't easily fit conventional explanations. The now-declassified document offers a fascinating glimpse into how UFO sightings were handled in the 1940s.
