🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1949, a U.S. Air Force crew observed an unusual aerial phenomenon in the Pacific Ocean. While conducting a weather mission, the crew spotted a cloud or contrail formation rising to high altitudes. The observations coincided with known weather conditions, leading investigators to conclude it was a cloud or contrail. Despite taking photographs, no object was identified and no sound was heard. The formation remained visible for 15 minutes before disappearing from view.
The crew, composed of several officers and technicians, described the formation as a series of white streaks emerging from low clouds and ascending at different angles. Although initially thought to be a contrail, there was no confirmation of aircraft in the area. Subsequent investigations found no naval or aerial activity in the region, reinforcing the conventional explanation. However, the lack of physical evidence and the inability to accurately determine the speed or distance of the phenomenon left some questions unanswered.
