🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1949, personnel at the Medford airfield in Oregon sighted unidentified objects moving at high speed and altitude. Observers noted that the objects reflected sunlight and performed horizontal maneuvers without a fixed direction. Despite using theodolites and binoculars, they could not identify them with certainty. The objects would disappear briefly and reappear in the same area, creating confusion among witnesses. The lack of clouds made it difficult to estimate their altitude, but it was believed they were above 17,000 feet.
The airfield reported the sightings to the air command, but no definitive conclusions were reached about the nature of the objects. It was noted that the objects moved faster than conventional aircraft, adding to the mystery. Despite attempts to track them with other planes, the objects did not reappear for a while, further complicating the investigation. This incident became one of many unresolved UFO cases from that time.
