🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1949, an employee at the Hebgen Lake lodge in Montana observed several unidentified flying objects. According to the report, the objects were traveling at an estimated speed of 1500 miles per hour, emitting a continuous sound similar to a siren, and had no wings, stabilizers, or openings. The witness claimed that six of the objects disappeared from the sky and two crashed in the area, prompting a three-day search without conclusive results. Although the observer lacked aeronautical training, he was considered to have a good perception of color, size, and speed, although he was prone to exaggeration. The weather conditions were ideal, with unlimited visibility and clear skies, supporting the credibility of the observation. The report also mentions the possibility that the witness had read articles about "flying discs," although this was questioned due to the presence of an article in the boathouse.
