🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1949, a 73-year-old woman in Hindsville, Arkansas, observed a bright, disc-shaped object in the sky. The object, about the size of a full moon, made no sound and left no trail. The witness saw it for approximately two minutes, flying in a straight line from west to east. Initially spotted from her window, she went outside to observe it more closely. Upon returning, the object had vanished. A small black airplane was seen about ten minutes later, but it did not resemble the mysterious object. The witness, considered credible, wore bifocal glasses and the weather was clear.
The report includes details about the location, the object's description, and an assessment of possible earthly explanations. There were no radar sightings or other reports in the area. The Air Force concluded the object could not be identified with known objects of the time. This case is part of the Project 10073 records, which investigated unidentified aerial phenomena.
