🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1949, four U.S. officers at Misawa Air Base in Japan observed a rectangular, silver or yellow object. Though it resembled a tow target, no towing aircraft was visible. The observers, all experienced pilots, agreed it was not an aircraft or a Japanese kite due to its speed and shape. The object disappeared behind a parked aircraft, complicating confirmation.
Three T-6s and five F-80s were airborne at the time, but none reported seeing anything unusual. No radar was operational due to maintenance, and anti-aircraft units reported no training aids. Despite the lack of physical or photographic evidence, the observers insisted the object had no conventional explanation.
