🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1949, in McDonald, Ohio, several residents reported seeing bright objects in the sky. A young man noticed something moving and ran to the Codwell Club to spread the news. According to the account, the object split into 4 or 5 pieces and quickly rose into the air. People watched for a few minutes before it disappeared. Some even tried to investigate by bicycle, thinking it might land nearby.
The U.S. Air Force investigation concluded that the phenomenon was not a UFO, but the result of a steel plant cleaning up an old building. Workers were burning trash, including silver paper, which was carried into the air by the wind, creating the illusion of flying objects. Although initially thought to be "flying saucers," the earthly explanation resolved the mystery. The case was closed after confirming this version.
