🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A civilian in Alexandria, Louisiana, observed a round, extremely bright object in September 1949. The witness described the object as dazzling, like the sun suddenly igniting and moving swiftly southward. The sighting lasted only five seconds, with no sound, exhaust, or visible support structures observed. Despite its brevity, the account stands out for its clarity and the absence of conventional explanations such as aircraft or meteors.
The official investigation concluded that the phenomenon had no clear explanation, and no physical or photographic evidence was found. The report, part of Project 10073, reflects the uncertainty of investigators facing an event that did not fit known categories. This case, though brief, adds another mystery to the history of UFO sightings in the 1940s.
