🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In 1949, a U.S. Air Force officer reported seeing a spherical object rapidly ascending in the sky near Lebec, California. The object, described as metallic and about 35 feet in diameter, appeared suddenly and climbed at a high speed before disappearing to the south. No noise or exhaust was detected, and aerial photos of the area initially showed unidentifiable objects. However, further investigation revealed these were just ordinary structures like corrals and sheds.
The investigation concluded the object might have been a weather balloon launched around the time of the sighting. The witnesses, deemed reliable and sober, showed no signs of drug or alcohol use. Despite the reports, no physical evidence was found, and the case suggested a misinterpretation of conventional objects.
