🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A U.S. soldier reported a unidentified flying object in 1949 while driving near Reno, Nevada. The object, described as perfectly round with curved edges, was observed for two minutes at an estimated altitude of between 3,000 and 5,000 feet. Its size was similar to a P-38, and it moved at a speed of around 600 mph. The observer, a veteran gunner from World War II, could not identify the object as a known aircraft. The report was submitted to air command and classified as "Aircraft," although no physical evidence or sounds were associated with it.
The report was reviewed by military personnel and concluded that there were no signs of supernatural or extraterrestrial activity. The object disappeared to the west without a trace, and the witness highlighted its metallic appearance and unusual silhouette. Despite the lack of photographs or physical evidence, the report was considered credible due to the observer's experience. This case is part of a series of sightings recorded in the 1940s, a time of great interest in unexplained aerial phenomena.
