In January 1950, three U.S. Air Force officers, including two pilots, reported sighting an unidentified object near Howard, Kansas. The object, described as an elongated shape resembling a football, measured between 30 and 60 feet in length and had a bright silver color with a red nose. It was moving in straight flight at approximately 2000 feet altitude, with an estimated speed of 300 to 500 miles per hour. The observers, alert and not fatigued, confirmed the object was in sight for less than two minutes before disappearing.

The official investigation found no conventional explanations, such as weather balloons or test flares, in the area. Despite clear weather and 12-mile visibility, no anomalous activities were recorded. The case was closed after all logical leads were exhausted, but it remains a mystery in the history of UFO reports.
