🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In 1950, an Air Force officer observed a glowing ball descending from the southwest toward the southeast. The object, initially yellowish white, turned more orange with a flame trail. When it leveled out, it changed to a bright blue-green and disappeared behind a mountain range. The sighting lasted about 10 seconds and no sound was heard. The report classified it as a meteorological phenomenon, though the observer insisted it was unusual.
The Air Force investigated the incident as part of its surveillance of unidentified flying objects. The officer, interviewed days later, described in detail the color, trajectory, and speed of the object, which seemed similar to a jet fighter. Despite no active radar in the area and no abnormal weather conditions, the report concluded there was no physical evidence or conflicting testimony. The case was closed without resolution, but the officer's and a reliable witness's account add credibility to the phenomenon's description.
