A 1950 report describes a luminous object observed at Sandia Base. A soldier reported seeing a red and green fireball moving westward. The object appeared suddenly and disappeared within 30 seconds. No sound or odor was detected. Although initially classified as a meteor, the detailed description hints at an unusual observation.
The investigation concluded it was a meteor, but the report did not entirely rule out other possibilities. The witness, deemed reliable, accurately described the color, shape, and trajectory of the object. Despite the official evaluation, this case remains an example of how military observers reported unidentified aerial phenomena in the 1950s.
