🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In February 1950, a journalism student in Albuquerque, New Mexico, observed a bright object that appeared three times larger than a shooting star. The witness described it as greenish-white with a faint reddish glow, leaving a small rocket-like trail. The object made no sound or odor and was visible for about one and a half seconds before it seemed to burn out. The Air Force classified it as a meteor, but the original report did not rule out the possibility of an unidentified aerial phenomenon.
The official report, prepared by the U.S. Air Force, includes a detailed account of the student's testimony, who had a particular interest in writing about flying saucers and strange aerial phenomena. Despite investigating all logical leads, the case was closed without a conclusive explanation. This declassified document remains an example of how authorities handled UFO reports in the 1950s.
