UFO seen over Sioux City in 1950

Summary

In March 1950, an observer at Sioux City Municipal Airport, Iowa, reported seeing a bright white object trailing a T-6 aircraft. The object was above and behind the plane, estimated to be about a quarter the size of the aircraft's tail. After following the T-6 to the base leg, the object turned northwest and disappeared rapidly. No noise or visible exhaust was observed. Witnesses described it as resembling a small parachute. Despite multiple sightings, including by National Guard personnel, no photos or physical evidence were obtained. The official conclusion suggested the object might have been debris from the aircraft.
