🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In April 1950, a soldier in New Jersey observed a formation of four unconventional aerial objects. Each was rectangular, about 3 by 3 feet and 1 foot thick, emitting an amber color. The objects moved unpredictably, accelerating, decelerating, and shifting direction rapidly. The entire formation ascended and descended in a coordinated manner, without a clear pattern. The witness detailed that the phenomenon lasted a few minutes before disappearing. Despite the detailed description, investigators could not identify the nature of the objects, classifying them as unidentified.
The report, initially classified as confidential, was written by an intelligence officer at Fort Monmouth and sent to the air command for analysis. The technical description and the witness's observations suggest an aerial behavior that did not match conventional aircraft of the time. Although there were no traces of cables or accompanying planes, the report concluded that the objects were "unidentified." This case is part of a series of sightings recorded by the Air Force in 1950, during a period when UFO sightings were under intense study.
