🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
An Air Force officer at Misawa AFB, Japan, reported a bright silver, circular object on June 21, 1950. The object was approximately 30 feet in diameter and 5 feet thick, moving at speeds ranging from 50 to 975 mph. It was observed for 20 seconds from the ground, rising nearly vertically about 1000 feet. The witness, experienced in fighter and transport aircraft, noted no sound or exhaust, adding to the enigma of the sighting.
The object appeared alongside an F-80, remaining in the same plane before rapidly disappearing. Although initially considered a reflection, the detailed description and the observer's credibility suggest a genuine and unexplained encounter. The report, part of a series of declassified messages, includes sketches and additional data promised in a follow-up.
