Summary

In July 1950, a radar operator in Wiesbaden, Germany, recorded the presence of unidentified objects while guiding the landing of a USAF aircraft. The radar picked up an additional target that, after a few minutes, split into two or three blurred objects moving rapidly in a counterclockwise pattern. The operators could not get a clear signal due to the height and distance, but the speed and movement suggested the possibility of jet aircraft.

A technician at the airport confirmed there was no known jet activity in the area at that time. Interestingly, another airman reported hearing sounds similar to low-flying jet aircraft hours later, without prior knowledge of the radar contact. Although balloon or astronomical explanations were considered, the nature of the event remains unexplained.
