🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1950, U.S. Coast Guardsmen in Peril Strait, Alaska, reported an unidentified object with an unusual shape. They described two oval discs connected by a strut, white and opaque, moving at high speed. The object maintained a steady course while performing banking and climbing maneuvers. Witnesses confirmed it emitted no sound or exhaust trail, adding to the mystery of the sighting. The craft, observed for two and a half minutes, generated significant interest due to its unusual behavior and appearance.
The report includes detailed descriptions and sketches of the object, highlighting that it was observed by multiple trained witnesses. The Coast Guard submitted the report to air authorities for analysis, but no conventional explanation was reached. This case fits within a period of growing public interest in unexplained aerial phenomena, with other sightings reported simultaneously in Ohio. While some cases were suggested to be explained by atmospheric conditions, the Peril Strait case remains an unresolved mystery.
