🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1950, a metallic object was sighted over Fort McPherson, Georgia, by several soldiers. The object appeared suddenly and was observed for about fifteen minutes before disappearing behind clouds. Local authorities were immediately notified, but the phenomenon could not be identified. Witnesses agreed that it had a metallic shine and moved slowly at a great height. Although no physical effects were reported, the testimony of multiple observers adds credibility to the report.
The document, classified for decades, was declassified in 2012. It shows how U.S. military authorities were already interested in unidentified aerial phenomena over sixty years ago. Although the report offers no conclusions, its existence reveals an early concern for UFO sightings. This case, although brief, is part of the broad history of investigations into unidentified objects.
