🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1950, a pilot at Wiesbaden Air Base in Germany observed an object in the sky resembling an automobile headlight. The object was at about 45 degrees above the horizon and showed no movement except for a slight oscillation. A companion, upon seeing it, called it a "flying saucer." The sighting lasted a few minutes before the object accelerated and vanished.
Control tower operators at the base did not see anything unusual, though they acknowledged that sunlight made observation difficult. Witnesses agreed on the description, but no propulsion or direction was noted. This declassified report from decades ago highlights how UFO sightings sparked interest and debate even in the 1950s.
