🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1950, hundreds of people in Tennessee observed strange streaks of light in the sky. Witnesses described two parallel orange-colored lines moving slowly toward the southwest. Some thought they were rockets, others believed they were reflections of sunlight on clouds, but no one could explain the phenomenon with certainty. The event sparked curiosity and debate in towns like Cookeville, where even the president of Tennessee Tech, Everett Derryberry, was left puzzled. Despite various theories, no one could conclusively identify the source of the lights, adding to the mystery of the sighting.
