🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1950, a U.S. Navy pilot reported a mysterious white object during a night mission near Lakehurst, New Jersey. The pilot, flying an AD-4Q, described how the object performed maneuvers impossible for any aircraft of the time, including extreme accelerations and movements that far exceeded the capabilities of jet fighters. The object, appearing as a single white light, remained visible for 25 to 30 minutes, performing close passes and complex maneuvers that baffled both the pilot and his crew. Despite attempts to contact other air units, the object could not be identified, leading to an official report that was classified and archived.
Researchers at the time could not reach a definitive conclusion about the nature of the object. The possibility of it being a weather balloon was considered, but the pilot rejected this explanation due to the object's speed and maneuverability. Despite other aircraft arriving in the area, only the wingman of the commanding officer saw the phenomenon, adding to the mystery. The report was analyzed by multiple intelligence departments, but no satisfactory explanation was found. This case remains one of the most intriguing in UFO history, especially due to the credibility of the witness and the accuracy of the recorded data.
