🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In December 1950, an observer in Alaska described a luminous phenomenon that appeared to be a blue-white meteorite traveling northwest. The object was seen for a few seconds and was followed by a series of rapid explosions, each one slightly further away than the last. Although initially considered a meteorite, the nature of the explosions and the unusual trajectory raised doubts. Multiple witnesses, including military and civilian personnel, reported the event. Despite no seismic activity recorded, the description of the phenomenon did not fully align with typical meteorite behavior. The report concluded it was likely a meteorite, but other explanations were not ruled out.
