🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In December 1950, witnesses in Winoski, Vermont, observed a cylindrical object emitting a bright fiery trail over Lake Champlain. The object, estimated to be between 4 and 5 yards long, was seen at an altitude of around 5000 feet and executed a sharp "L" pattern. The sighting occurred around 21:00 hours and was reported by several civilians, including a student, a housewife, and a store clerk. The unusual object and its trajectory attracted the attention of air defense authorities at the time.
The information was collected by the Air Force and analyzed in the context of reports on unconventional aircraft. Although a meteorologist was contacted to verify weather conditions, the testimonies showed some inconsistencies. No photographs were taken of the event, but the data was included in an intelligence report for further review. Like many other cases from that era, this one was classified and archived without a clear resolution, adding to the mystery of UFO sightings in the 1950s.
