🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In December 1950, a civilian observer in Los Alamos, New Mexico, reported a bright green object moving rapidly across the sky. The object, described as round with a glowing tail, changed color and faded suddenly. Initially thought to be a meteorite, it was later classified as an astronomical phenomenon, likely a meteor. The detailed description from the observer, along with the object's speed and color changes, generated interest among investigators at the time.
The observation lasted only three seconds, but it was enough to leave a strong impression. The object was moving at a speed exceeding 1000 miles per hour, making it hard to track with the naked eye. Although no physical evidence or photographs were found, the official report concluded that the phenomenon fit within what was considered a common astronomical event. However, the detailed description and unusual color and luminosity changes suggest it could have been something more unusual, though no definitive conclusion was reached.
