🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In January 1951, two U.S. Air Force officers at Stewart AFB, New York, reported an unusual aerial sighting. They described a bright, white object rapidly ascending in a zigzag pattern, displaying maneuverability inconsistent with a balloon or conventional aircraft. The object was observed for about two minutes, changing color from white to yellow-green with a trailing light. Despite excellent visibility, no sound was heard, adding to the mystery.
The observers, without prior aerial experience, agreed the object did not behave like conventional flight. The detailed description and lack of conventional explanations led to an official report. Like many similar cases from the era, it was categorized as an "unconventional aircraft," reflecting official uncertainty about the nature of the observed phenomenon.
